人教版高中英语必修一Unit 1 Friendship一、Analysis of teaching materialThis is the first teaching period of this unit. The reading passage titled Anne’s best friend. Inthis passage, we can know Anne’s best friend is a diary and make the Ss realize the importance offriednship. It’s the bedding of the whole unit.1、Knowledge and skill objectiveThe Ss will grasp the new words in the passage and get the students to realize the importance of the friendship. 2、Process and method objectiveThe students will further improve their reading ability and let them learn to use some reading strategies such as skimming, scanning etc. 3、Emotional, Attitude and Value objectiveEncourage the students to value the friendship. Teaching Key PointsHow to get the students to learn different reading skills and how to get the students to realize the importance of the friendship.Teaching Difficult Points Develop the students’ reading ability and understand the implied meanings ofthe words in the passage . 二、Analysis of StudentsAlthough the students have the basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, they still need many opportunities to practice what they have learned, to express their ideas, feelings, and experience and to develop their autonomous learning ability and cooperative learningability.三、Analysis of Teaching methods


‟ diary.(三)Step 3 While-readingRead the passage quickly and fill in the form below.
Task-based language teaching is adopted in this lesson. The task is to get the structure of this text. I will ask students to dividethe whole text into three parts and try to get the main idea of each part. By means of TBLT, students are involved and engaged in the task and classroom activities, and therefore they can learn moreabout the text.四、Analysis of Learning methodsSs need to develop some reading strategies such as skimming,scanning, summarizinginformation, and so on. In this lesson, students are instructed to develop the above mentionedreading strategies. Since the reading part tells the story of Anne, it’s necessary for Ss to searchsome bacground information about her. 五、Teaching Procedures(一)Step1 Lead-in Free talk to lead in the topic we will learn : Boys and girls, we are new for each other ,but I want to know: do you like to make friendswith me? So your questions are: What qualities should a good friend have? What do they oftendo? Four students a group discuss with each other for 2 minutes.(二)Step 2 Pre-readingStudents read the title of the passage and observe the pictures and the outline of it to guess: Who is Anne’s best friend? Read the first paragraph ,tell me the answer. Read and find out How many parts are there in the passage? Whatare they ? One part is the background of Anne and Anne’s diary,theother part is about one page of Annes


After finishing the form, the teacher should introduce more background about this passage to the students: This is a true story.It took place in Amsterdam, Holland in the early 1940s after the German Nazis had occupied most of Europe. The Nazi Party ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945. One of their key policies was to kill all the Jews in Europe. If any persons known to be Jews were found,they would be sent to concentration camps farther east, mostly in Poland. Families were separated and transported in trains For many days, they went without food, water, sanitation orfresh air. To avoid this terrible fate, some Jewish families went into hiding, often with the help of non-Jewish friends. This diary was written during the time when Anne and her family moved toescape from beingkilled by Nazis. Read the dairy again and pay special attention to the boldfaced words. Then discuss in groupsthe inside meanings of them .then think of some other words or expressions to describe Anne’sfeelings and thoughts. Ss work in group of four to discuss the following open questions: Why did the windows stay closed? Guess the meanings of “spellbound”,“ hold me entirely in their power” from the discourse(语篇,上下文)? Which sentences attract you in the passage? (四)Step 4 Post-reading  Discuss:Do you think the friendship is very important to you ? Why or whynot ?Four students a group to discuss the situation: Suppose you four have to hide yourselves for 3 months. During the three months , you willbe offered the basic food, water and clothes. Your group can take 5 things with you. What will you take? Why? How will you spend the 3 months? How will you treat each other and make friends ? How will you understand „A friend in need is a friend indeed at that time ?(五)Step 5 HomeworkSurf the internet to find Anne’s Diary and read some of it.


Print out a piece of the diary andwrite down your feelings after reading it on the page. We will share the pieces and your feelings with the whole class. Do Ex1,2 on Page3六、Blackboard design  At last, I will talk something about my blackboard design. As far as I am concerned, theblackboard design can reflect the teacher’s ability of mastering the text and leading the students tomaster the text easily.I will write the topic sentences on the blackboard, in order to tell the studentsthe importance of them in this class. I shall make the design inductive, instructive and artistic.  That is all.
