2019-2020学年度人教版必修一Unit2 English around the worldLanguage points 教案●从容说课This is the second period of this unit which focuses on language. In this period,severalexercises about language on the textbook will be dealt with. Some important language points inthe warming up and reading will be explained in detail.Language is the part which is tested much in any examination. Instead of remembering wordsand phrases inflexibly,using them correctly should be the target.So this period should be taughtwith this purpose.At the beginning of the lesson,homework will be checked. After that,students are requiredto recall the information on the content of the passage. By doing so,students can get morechances to practice their spoken language. Then the exercises on language will be dealt with. Inthis part,students are expected to learn to use the words and phrases in the warming-up andcomprehending. There are various types of exercises on words and expressions. Besides,there isan exercise about prepositions in Am. English and Br .English. And it offers a listening practice ondifferences between Am. English and Br. English.To let students master words and phrases better,I’ll present more detailed explanationsabout how to use them in practice by offering some examples. After that,students should practiseusing them by making up sentences. With this method,students can master the words andphrases better.1

Now who can retell the content of the passage to us?S:Let me try. English is used more and more today. The number of the people speaking it isincreasing rapidly. China has the biggest number of English speakers. However,even two nativespeakers do not speak the same English because there are many kinds of English. That is causedby communication of culture. So actually even they can not understand everything they say.Besides being spoken as the native tongue,English is also used as a foreign or 2nd language inmany other countries. In a word,it is more and more important.Step 2 Learning about languageT:You did such a good job. You have mastered the text quite well. This period we will try tomaster the useful words and expressions in the first period. First let’s do exercise 1 in the part oflearning about language.
